Mailings Team Volunteers

Do you excel at creating content to entice and inform potential donors at nonprofits? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking to build a team of mailings strategists who will craft, schedule and manage our communications with prospects as we develop new reporting initiatives and grow bigger. You will be responsible for working within a team to make all aspects of donor communications smoother.

A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, WhoWhatWhy is staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.  

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week.  Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in marketing and development
  • The ability to craft compelling, creative donor materials and a unique understanding of how we must communicate our mission to new prospects 
  • The ability to work independently, in a virtual team environment
  • A creative mindset, good organizational skills and initiative

  • Design and execute messages to donors across different platforms like email and social media 
  • Understand how we can best brand ourselves to reach new prospects 
  • Schedule and manage donor communication initiatives
  • Work with marketing and development team members to satisfy all aspects of donor outreach
