Communications Associate

Are you obsessed with being efficient, organized and ensuring that everything is in its proper place? Are you interested in learning about nonprofit development and communications? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking for a mailings assistant to work in the development department, constantly digging to find new prospects and donors to add to our mailing lists, and ensuring our lists are up-to-date. For mailing lists, you will be given a weekly addition quota to fill. This is a great position for a detail-oriented, results-driven individual who enjoys spotting inconsistencies and working to better organizational deliverables.

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week.  Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.

  • Meet addition quota for mailing lists each week by finding new prospects and donors to add to lists, through consultation with our development department
  • Ensure all lists are up-to-date each week
  • Learn the ins and outs of nonprofit donor cultivation and outreach
