Freelance Graphic Designer

Are you an experienced graphic design with impeccable creative skills? Do you excel in helping companies communicate their vision and goals through art? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking for freelance graphic designers to join our team to handle a variety of exciting projects for several departments. 

Who We Are

We are a remarkable news organization and community that is making a difference, setting a new standard, and innovating on every front. A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, WhoWhatWhy is staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.  


You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week.  Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.

  • Proven graphic design experience 
  • A creative mindset, with the ability to effectively analyze how to create graphics that fit WhoWhatWhy's needs 
  • Comfort creating graphics and artwork for a variety of purposes, departments and uses
  • The flexibility to turn assignments in on deadline  


  • Design artwork, graphics, and more when needed
  • Collaborate with Creative Director to complete assignments with feedback from team members
