Social Media Manager

The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking for a volunteer to serve as social media manager. Non-corporate, non-partisan, and commercial-free, we are powered entirely by public support and the passionate involvement of people who believe in our mission. You will strategize how we tell our story in the social sphere.

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week. Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate solely through digital means. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis. We prefer candidates who can commit a minimum of three months to this project in order to establish a solid foundation for our social media presence.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Act as WhoWhatWhy's voice through our digital channels
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of our social media presence (via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Schedule and publish all content to social media channels accurately
  • Establish and maintain regular reporting of social engagement and KPIs
