Have you worked in newsrooms to help editors use photography to enhance their coverage and draw readers? Do you have a unique understanding of where the best photo editors are located, and what kind of work they're best at? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking for volunteer photo editor advisor to help us find more photo editors, think of ideas to grow and enhance our photography initiatives, and integrate editors into the team.
Who We Are
We are a remarkable news organization and community that is making a difference, setting a new standard, and innovating on every front. A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, WhoWhatWhy is staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.
You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 2-5 hours a week. Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.
Please send us a resume and carefully reasoned, customized cover letter that outlines your experience and skillset, and shows that you have studied what we do at WhoWhatWhy. Our mission must resonate deeply with you. We will not review applications that appear to be mass submissions. You must confirm your understanding that this is a volunteer position.
