Junior Staff Manager

Do you excel at managing staff to ensure nonprofit organizations run smoothly and efficiently? The nonprofit news site WhoWhatWhy is looking for a volunteer junior staff manager to join the Human Resources department and help us track, integrate and support team members across departments.

A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, WhoWhatWhy is staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.  

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week.  Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.

  • Proven experience managing staff and working in Human Resources to organize and structure companies
  • The ability to work in a virtual team environment
  • The ability to work independently
  • A creative mindset that will help us tackle various HR challenges

  • Organize, track, manage and support new and current staff members across departments 
  • Analyze our current personnel procedures and recommend ways to smooth out processes and ensure that everyone understand each other's roles and objectives 
  • Work well with different team members to satisfy different aspects of human resources as WhoWhatWhy grows
