General Manager

WhoWhatWhy is looking for general managers to handle each department of the company, helping oversee everyday processes, operations, and the overall mission of the organization. If you have extensive management experience and are interested in helping us grow while having a unique experience, we want to hear from you.
 

Who We Are

We are a remarkable news organization and community that is making a difference, setting a new standard, and innovating on every front. A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, WhoWhatWhy is staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.  

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week. Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Management experience including project and team management
  • Great communications skills
  • Confident, driven and dynamic leader
  • Copywriting and creative experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and strategize within all departments 
  • Coordinate growing teams to handle tasks efficiently and effectively 
  • Understand how to take our organization 
  • Manage the creation of department materials such as donor communications, operations procedures, art, and more – whatever suits your interests
